Class Music Lessons

Every child in the school receives a class music lesson once a week from a specialist music teacher. During the lessons the children learn about all aspects of music, such as melody, rhythm, singing, playing instruments, music notation, song arrangements, composing, performing, recording and music appreciation.

Extra-Curricular Music Clubs and Activities

 Monday

 Violin lessons: after school for Juniors (Years 3-6)

 Teacher: Laurel Swift

 Tuesday

 Music Club: 2.45 - 3.30 pm

 Children are invited from different year groups (from Years 1-6) on a rota

 basis to receive extra music lessons. At present we are focusing on

 composition, singing and performing.

 Recorder Club: 12.50 - 1.25 pm

 Year 3 beginners

 Teacher: Laura Maple

 Wednesday

 Choir: 12.50 - 1.25 pm

 Choir is for children from Years 2-6.

 Teacher: Laura Maple

 Recorder Club: 3 - 3.30 pm

 This club is for children in Year 4 who are continuing with recorder from last

 year.

 Teacher: Laura Maple

 Recorder Club: 3.30 - 4.15 pm

 This recorder club is for more advanced players in the Juniors (Years 3-6).

 Clarinet/Saxophone lessons: after school

 Teacher: Daniel Barry

 Thursday

 Guitar Club: 2.30 pm

 This club is currently for children in the Juniors (Years 3-6).

 Teacher: Alan Gruner

 Friday

 Music Studio Lessons: 2 mornings every half term for children in Year 6

 Children are taught music recording techniques using the school's music

 studio and are given opportunities to create their own music using the

 computer, keyboard and instruments.

 Teacher: Tim Maple
